Cost-cutting boosts D Telekom results

Deutsche Telekom reported a 32 per cent rise in second-quarter net profit on Thursday as Germany’s leading telecoms company claimed progress with cost-cutting at its US, UK and Polish operations.

Deutsche Telekom recorded group revenue of €16.2bn ($23.3bn) for the three months to June 30, up 7.4 per cent, and net profit of €521m, up 32.2 per cent.
