Grain surges on demand and poor crops

Grains prices surged in Chicago on Monday as the US government said record prices for farmers were possible this year, due to strong global demand and disappointing harvests in Ukraine and Russia.

Further support was provided by recent weather forecasts that have scaled back expected rainfall for the US Midwest.
