José Manuel Barroso, the European Commission president, on Tuesday joined the growing list of top-level European policymakers who have voiced concern about the euro’s strength against the dollar.

Mr Barroso told reporters at a conference in Brussels: “I know that, indeed, it is a matter of concern in some sectors of our economy. Yes, it is true, it is now at a level that raises some concerns.”
