Ian Cheshire, chief executive of Kingfisher, has warned against translating consumers’ increased willingness to spend into a full-scale retail recovery.

The owner of B&Q is expected to have benefited from recent warmer weather although Mr Cheshire would not comment on current trading ahead of an update next month.
