SanDisk rebuffs $5.8bn offer from Samsung

SanDisk, the US memory chipmaker, has rebuffed a $5.8bn takeover approach by its South Korean rival Samsung Electronics, rejecting the offer as “inadequate in multiple respects”.

The California-based company denounced the approach as an “opportunistic attempt to take advantage of SanDisk’s current stock price”.
