Failed Silverjet rescue ends in break-up

Negotiations to rescue Silverjet, the failed UK all-business class airline, broke down on Friday, forcing the administrator to make all 420 employees redundant.

Mark Fry, senior partner of Begbies Traynor and joint administrator for Silverjet since its collapse two weeks ago, said it was no longer possible to sell the airline as a going concern. As a result the administrator was pursuing the sale of Silverjet’s assets.
