Globalisation must be all-inclusive

The World Bank Group is one of the great multilateral institutions established after the second world war. Sixty years later, it must adapt to vastly different circumstances.

We live in an age of globalisation. Yet its contours are uncertain. Since the end of the Cold War, the number of people in the world market economy has increased from about 1bn to 4bn–5bn.
