Gang attack on restaurant puts the heat on China

Early one August morninga group of 40 men, some carrying iron clubs, invaded a well-known restaurant on Shanghai's swankiest shopping street and ordered the staff to leave.

When Tian Zhan, a member of the Taiwanese family that had been running the Xiao Nan Guo restaurant on Nanjing Road, later approached the building, he was chased and attacked outside the nearby Gucci store.
