Kazakhmys, the London-listed Kazakh copper miner, will cut copper output this year as oversupply threatens to further undercut prices, but it said copper demand from it neighbour China has held up amid the global downturn.
Releasing its annual production results ahead of financial results, Kazakhmys beat expectations in its fiscal year to December 2008 by producing 340,100 tonnes of copper cathode, or refined copper.
