MIDDLE EAST George Mitchell, the US envoy to the Middle East, on Wednesday ended his second meeting in two days with the Israeli prime minister without reaching an agreement on a possible suspension of Jewish settlement activity.
The office of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli premier, issued a statement describing the talks as “good” and adding that the two men will continue their discussions at a previously unscheduled meeting on Friday after Mr Mitchell returns from visiting several other countries in the region.
