France shows caution with gaming sector plans

France is working up proposals for a ”controlled opening” of its gaming sector later this year, but they are likely to fall well short of European betting companies’ hopes for an open market.

The proposals were outlined at a meeting on Wednesday between Charlie McCreevy, EU internal markets commissioner, and Eric Woerth, French budget minister, Brussels officials said.
