China?s industrial output grows 17% in May

China?s May industrial output grew 16.6 percent from a year earlier, a higher-than-expected rise that analysts said probably reflected the country?s strong exports and consumer spending.

The median forecast of seven economists polled by Reuters was for a 15.5 percent rise from a year earlier, compared with a 16.0 percent increase for April.
