Copy China says Medvedev

Dmitry Medvedev, Russia's most likely next president, has called on Russian business to follow China's lead and splash out on companies abroad in order to bolster the country's economic clout and reduce its dependence on foreign technology.

In his first speech to big business since Vladimir Putin named him as his preferred successor, Mr Medvedev yesterday pledged Kremlin support for companies seeking to expand into global markets.
