Mills wins Ghanaian presidential poll

Ghana’s electoral commission declared John Atta Mills, the main opposition leader, the winner of presidential elections on Saturday after a closely fought run-off with his ruling party rival.

Mr Mills’ victory overturns eight years of rule by the New Patriotic Party of John Kufuor, the outgoing president, who is stepping down after serving a constitutional limit of two terms in office.
