Cost of London high life on the slide

The cost of luxury living in London dropped by almost 4 per cent in the 12 months to April – marking an end to years of steep inflation in the goods and services bought by the super-rich.

The deflation, notably in luxury foods and fine wines, art, cultural and entertainment events and residential rental accommodation, indicates that even London’s wealthiest residents are reining in discretionary spending in the downturn.
