Deficit funding fears weigh on dollar

The dollar slipped from its highs on Wednesday as a raft of soft US data prompted some renewed fears over the funding of the US current account deficit, as well as provoking fresh discussion as to the possibility of a pause in the US rate hike cycle.

But when the dust settled the dollar was down less than a cent against the euro, indicating the resilience of dollar-bullish sentiment now prevalent in the market.
