Maintenance cuts threaten property values

Maintenance spending on commercial property in the UK has fallen at its sharpest rate since the 1950s, threatening a future wave of repair costs to landlords.

Spending on repair and maintenance has fallen 22 per cent from £4.12bn ($6.7bn) in the last three months of 2007 to £3.2bn in the second quarter of this year, according to a study released on Monday.
