French tax-free overtime gets mixed response

Delpeyrat is the kind of company French president Nicolas Sarkozy believed he would give a boost to when he introduced a measure on tax-free overtime pay earlier this month.

As one of France’s leading foie gras producers, every October Delpeyrat has the arduous task of recruiting the same 260 seasonal workers needed to ensure that production at its factory in south-west France keeps up with the flood of pre-Christmas orders.
