Nestlé cautious on high food prices

Global food prices are likely to drop from their current peaks soon but stay high for up to two decades because politicians are failing to show the necessary leadership to boost agricultural productivity, the world’s biggest foods group has warned.

Hans Jöhr, in charge of food sourcing at Nestlé, predicted private companies would remain in the vanguard of providing affordable food for “maybe 10, maybe 20 years” because their survival is at stake.
