GM chief wary over sales upturn

Fritz Henderson, General Motors chief executive, yesterday expressed caution about “the rate and the trajectory” of the recovery in demand for new vehicles – especially in the US and Europe.

In spite of his caution over the outlook for new vehicle sales, Mr Henderson said he was confident the carmaker could achieve many of its restructuring goals, including its cost-reduction targets.
