The longish hair and youthful look puts him squarely in the category of the unconventional businessman, but at the tender age of 30 Kenji Kasahara has already achieved far more financial success than the average corporate executive.

Mr Kasahara is the founder, president and largest shareholder of Mixi, the social networking service, which saw its shares soar on its first day of trading on Thursday.
