Japan seeks revision of ‘very unfair' UN fees

Japan will be “proactively involved” in talks next year to renegotiate contributions to the United Nations, its foreign minister said, strongly implying that Tokyo will seek a substantial cut to its fees.

Nobutaka Machimura, foreign minister, said in an interview with the Financial Times that Japan's contribution was “very unfair” compared with those of the UK, France, China and Russia.
