Air traffic control: Europe: Blue skies for a single sky

On the ground, borders across Europe have fallen. A lorry can drive from Paris to Lisbon without hindrance. In the air, however, things are different. The same cargo would be passed between three air traffic control systems on a journey by aircraft.

National airspace remains jealously guarded, though Brussels and the aviation industry are on a mission to change this.
