Bangalore, the centre of India's digital revolution, will change its name to Bengaluru, close to its pre-colonial appellation, on November 1 next year, when the southern state of Karnataka celebrates its 50th anniversary, a spokesman for Dharam Singh, Karnataka's chief minister, said yesterday.
Bangalore has become an internationally recognisable name, thanks to the wave of outsourcing that saw many foreign companies set up operations in the city.Anita Jain, New Delhi
