Gazprom limits Ukraine supply over unpaid bill

Gazprom yesterday reduced gas supplies to Ukraine by at least one quarter, one day after Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian gas monopoly's chairman, won the presidential election.

The reduction over $600m (€395m, £302m) in unpaid gas bills are the second energy standoff between the two countries since 2006 when supplies to Europe were dented during a price dispute.
