Inditex feels effect of European slowdown

The consumer slowdown in Europe has begun to affect Inditex, the Spanish fashion retailer, which on Wednesday reported 1 per cent year-on-year growth in same-store sales for the six months to the end of July.

The company, which owns the popular Zara brand, said net profits for the period were €406m ($574m), up 3 per cent on a year ago.
