Falling demand for electrical goods across Europe caused fresh pain for DSG International as the owner of PC World and Currys reported declining like-for-like sales.

Like-for-like sales dropped across the group by 7 per cent in the 16 weeks to August 23. In the biggest UK and Ireland electricals division, like-for-like sales also fell 7 per cent. Comparable sales at the UK computing division, which operates PC World, were down 12 per cent.
