Investors look to manage their futures

Commodity trading advisers had a good year in 2008, posting positive returns while other hedge fund strategies lost money. But the tables were turned this year, with CTAs down in the dumps while other strategies soared.

However, investors still like them for their diversification properties and liquidity – a key attribute given the difficulties faced last year by many hedge fund investors who wanted to cash in their investments.
