Daimler on Wednesday announced a shake-up at its Japanese Mitsubishi Fuso truck operations, which will involve the shedding of thousands of jobs, the closure of two plants and the halving of the product range of the world’s largest truck maker by sales.
The move comes on the heels of a similar overhaul in Daimler’s US operations in the past year, and reflects a collapse in demand in all major truck markets.
