Paramount cuts output after Spielberg leaves

Paramount Pictures is reducing the number of films it releases each year from 25 to 20 in a significant cost-saving move as the Viacom-owned studio adjusts to life after the departure of Steven Spielberg.

The lauded director left Paramount last month when his contract ended, and will take his DreamWorks brand and staff to his new venture, backed by Reliance Big Entertainment of India.
