Peek demand ‘bumping along’ for Victrex

Continued poor demand from struggling industrial customers led sales at Victrex, the specialist plastics maker, to fall by a third during the first half of the year.

Operational gearing at the company, the world’s leading supplier of polyaryletherketones, or Peek, plastics used extensively as an alternative to metal across the automotive and aerospace sectors, saw profits drop by nearly two-thirds at the half-way stage.
