Vivendi halts Zain talks on Africa asset deal

Vivendi on Monday said it was halting talks with Zain about buying a controlling stake in the Kuwaiti telecoms company’s African mobile phone businesses.

The French media and telecoms company this month made an informal offer to Zain, which valued the African assets at $10bn-$11bn in their entirety.
