BoE rejects interest rate cut

The Bank of England left interest rates unchanged on Thursday against a backdrop of falling stock markets and deadlock in London, which was shaken by several bomb explosions on the public transport network during the morning rush hour.

The decision marked the 11th month of no change and came despite mounting evidence that the British economy is slowing more sharply than previously assumed.
