German outrage at scale of tax scandal

German prosecutors on Monday raided homes and offices in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and at least two other cities as their investigations into what is fast becoming Germany’s biggest tax evasion scandal gained pace.

Metzler private bank saw its offices in Frankfurt and a subsidiary in Munich raided. A spokesman said no senior individuals had been singled out but was unable to say whether the bank was a suspect or a witness.
