Pork demand boosts Cranswick’s bottom line

Strong demand for British pork from shoppers looking to buy more meat for their money allowed Cranswick to increase profits and raise its dividend in spite of higher costs.

The Yorkshire-based company, which makes Weight Watchers’ and Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference sausages, said turnover had increased from £559.2m to £606.8m ($928.7m) in the year to March 31.
