Over the past few years, most of the trends in financial services have moved in favour of larger forces. The same is true of the private banking business, where institutions such as UBS and Credit Suisse have gathered a growing proportion of the assets of the wealthy.
Yet when it comes to looking after the wealth of very rich families, a number of smaller institutions have emerged to take on the bigger companies.
