Corporate treasurers put under spotlight

Corporate treasurers rarely have been in the limelight. They are more often to be found negotiating with banks over their company’s funding needs or at their desks number-crunching the health of the bond markets.

But the credit crisis has raised the profile of the job as companies fret about how they can secure funding at a time when banks are shrinking their balance sheets, corporate bond markets are expensive and equity raising is back in vogue.
