Deflation concerns recede on inflation barometers

Market expectations for US inflation over the next 10 years on Tuesday rose above 2 per cent for the first time since last September and up sharply from a level near zero at the end of last year.

The 10-year breakeven rate, which reflects the difference between 10-year Treasury notes and Treasury inflation protected securities, or Tips, has risen from below 1 per cent since early March.
