Friends Reunited, the network of websites founded on putting old school friends back in touch, has set bidders a deadline of next week to submit offers that are expected to value the five year-old company at more than £100m.

The company has ruled out a sale to venture capital bidders, according to people familiar with the auction, having received strong interest from half a dozen or more potential trade buyers from the UK and the US.
