The fun is slowly being sapped out of visits to other nations’ supermarkets. Not so long ago any trip abroad could only be improved with a wander round a local store, checking out all the quirky brand names and packs. Oh, how we laughed at Argentina’s Big Boy chocolate and Spain’s Bimbo bread.
Such packaging adventures are fewer and further between as local brands are increasingly bought up or killed off by the major international manufacturers.
