Battle to restore confidence in securitisation

The securitisation markets are increasingly coming into the spotlight of regulators and policymakers seeking to restore investor confidence in the financing techniques that blew up during the financial crisis.

The hundreds of billions of losses on securities backed by subprime mortgages and the continued widespread confusion about how much complex securities backed by loans are actually worth has kept large parts of these markets closed for new business.
