Private equity bosses in demand

Banks are hiring private equity executives to beef up teams that manage troubled businesses, as they prepare to take control of more companies in financial difficulty.

The hiring spree comes in spite of the push by many banks to shed tens of thousands of jobs in other areas of their business, particularly investment banking.
