Tesco is to create more than 800 jobs at a new customer service centre in Glasgow as part of its plan to expand its financial services business, giving a boost to Scotland’s beleaguered financial sector.

Tesco has received a £5m grant from the Scottish government to help set up the service centre, which will be based at the Tesco Personal Finance operations centre in central Glasgow. Tesco will start hiring for the positions towards the end of this year.
