Edward Quinn was a pioneering paparazzo - indeed, he began his career long before that term was coined. In Riviera Cocktail (Sky Arts Saturday 8.00pm), we learn how he blagged his way into the world of glitzy photo-journalism and then quickly gained the trust of many of the stars he photographed in and around the Riviera. This is an amusing story, although some viewers may find the jazz-noodling soundtrack tiresome. ***

No DVDs of the final episode of Doctor Who (BBC1 6.40pm) were available so previewers will be tuning in along with everyone else to discover whether, as last week's instalment suggested, this really is the end of David Tennant's stint as the beloved time-traveller.
