AT&T in global bid to host corporate clients

AT&T, the US telecoms group, has launched a "cloud computing" service that will enable corporate customers to use its global data centres to run software programs and store data.

The service, dubbed "Synaptic Hosting," will allow companies to avoid running applications for managing websites and other tasks on their own machines. Customers will only pay for the computer time they use.
