In the opening sequence of Quantum of Solace, James Bond races an Aston Martin DBS supercar from Lake Garda and through the marble quarries in Carrara, before finishing the chase in the Tuscan hill town of Siena. Along the way, the car’s driver-side door is torn off in a tunnel.

Aston Martin denied reports on Tuesday that an anonymous collector had paid £200,000 for the wrecked car, allegedly fished from the bottom of the lake after filming. “I still have that car in storage and I haven’t sold it yet,” a spokesman said. “It still drives but it is not in the best of conditions.”
