South Korea’s three wireless operators will lower mobile tariffs and other charges from November as part of the government’s drive to reduce household bills.
The tariff cuts will lead to $1.25bn in savings in 2010, or 7-8 per cent of the combined revenues of the three operators – SK Telecom, KT Corp and LG Telecom. The savings will reach Won2,100bn ($1.75bn) in 2011, or about 10 per cent of the combined revenues.
