Sir Martin Sorrell is the pugnacious chief executive of WPP, formerly known as Wire & Plastic Products and now the world's largest advertising agency by revenues.

After an apprenticeship with Saatchi & Saatchi, Sir Martin established WPP through a series of hostile takeovers. He created a group that spans the media world from PR and advertising to market research and political lobbying.
