Harry Potter author wins case

J.K. Rowling and Warner Brothers Entertainment have succeeded in blocking the publication of an unauthorised companion book to the Harry Potter series after a judge in New York said the work would infringe the author's rights.

Ms Rowling and Warner, which produces the Harry Potter films, argued Steve Vander Ark's book, Harry Potter Lexicon , contained little original commentary and reproduced whole passages of Ms Rowling's work.
