Eastern Europe gains new confidence

Central and eastern European equities have re­bounded strongly as worries recede over their economies and risk appetite increases among investors.

The biggest surge has been seen in Lithuania. The OMX Vilnius index has jumped 48 per cent in local currency terms since the close on June 30.
